Description
The Altronix eBridge1PCRT single-port Ethernet over Coax (EoC) Receiver and hardened Transceiver kit is designed to transmit both data and power via coaxial cable. The eBridge1PCR unit generates Power over Ethernet (PoE) through the coax to the eBridge1PCT transceiver, which then supplies PoE-compliant power to connected edge devices or IP cameras. This plug-and-play solution enables seamless system upgrades from analog to IP, making use of existing legacy coaxial infrastructure and eliminating the need for the costly and labor-intensive installation of new network cabling. This technology supports data and power transmission over coaxial cable for distances up to 500 meters, significantly extending beyond the standard 100-meter Ethernet distance (CAT5e). The total maximum range from the network headend to the edge device or camera can reach up to 700 meters, accounting for up to 100 meters of structured cabling from the receiver to the network switch and from the transceiver to the edge device or camera.
