The MS1861 Bottom Rail Deadbolt delivers exceptional security with its advanced deadbolt locking technology, specifically designed for ultra-narrow stile door applications. This robust system features hardened steel bolts, ideal for installations where conventional locking solutions are not feasible due to limited vertical space or on tempered glass doors lacking a stile.
**Functionality:**
Engineered to fit within the horizontal bottom rail, the MS1861 Deadbolt provides a secure locking solution for ultra-narrow stile doors. Its hardened steel cylindrical bolts require only small strike holes, reducing the risk of tripping over debris or snagging high-heeled shoes on the threshold. This deadbolt is suitable for securing either single-leaf or double door setups, though it is not recommended for use on wooden doors.
**Operation:**
The deadbolt is engaged or retracted with a 360° rotation of a key or thumbturn. The key is removable only when the bolts are securely locked or unlocked. Compatible with any standard 1″ (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32″ (29.4 mm) diameter mortise cylinder featuring an MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder or the 4066 Thumbturn, which are sold separately. The lock can accommodate cylinders from either side to enhance versatility and ease of use.
