Description
The SK-NIC, a Network Interface Card, is specifically designed for integration with Honeywell Silent Knight’s 6000 Series fire alarm control panels (FACPs). This interface enables seamless connection of subassemblies to broadband networks from remote locations, facilitating interlinking of FACPs.
The SK-NIC card supports network connectivity through unshielded, twisted-pair copper wiring. For installations requiring fiber optic connections, compatible add-on modules, such as the SK-FML for multi-mode fiber and the SK-FSL for single-mode fiber, can be utilized.
Using the SK-NIC in conjunction with SK-FML and SK-FSL modules supports the establishment of a unified communications and annunciation network across up to 17 panels connected via fiber optic cable. A designated panel acts as the central communicator for all associated panels, simplifying communications management. Alternatively, copper wiring can be used for these connections.
This network solution is compatible with the Silent Knight 6000 Series 6820 and 6820EVS FACPs, both of which support up to 1,110 points through the SK Protocol. These panels feature built-in Signaling Line Circuits (SLCs) and can accommodate additional SLCs to reach maximum point capacity.
Enhancing the connected system, the 6860 remote annunciator can be integrated. It features a large 160-character, 4×40 display and has four programmable function buttons to streamline tasks and minimize panel interaction time.
