The Electro-Voice EVH-1152D/66 is a high-performance, two-way horn-loaded coaxial loudspeaker system designed for a wide range of professional audio applications where high intelligibility, wide bandwidth directivity control, and impressive efficiency are required within a compact and cost-efficient solution.
For high-frequency output, the EVH-1152D/66 features the DH7N compression driver with a high-output 3-inch titanium diaphragm, coupled to a rotatable Constant Directivity 60° x 60° waveguide. The rotatable design of the mid-bass and high-frequency waveguides ensures uniform pattern control across the critical vocal range, regardless of the enclosure orientation. Low-frequency reproduction is handled by the SMX2151 15-inch woofer, optimized using finite element analysis (FEA) to achieve low distortion, high efficiency, and maximum intelligibility at high sound pressure levels (SPL). The crossover network incorporates steep 24-dB per-octave slopes and equalization for smooth vocal response, linear off-axis performance, and high-frequency protection for long-term durability. This advanced design ensures extended frequency response and precise pattern control down to 500 Hz.
The EVH-1152D/66 is ideal for fixed-installation applications. Its trapezoidal enclosure is constructed from weather-resistant birch and finished with EVCoat to enhance durability. Weatherproof versions are available, featuring PI and FG options. The enclosure includes 28 M10 suspension points for easy installation in single or cluster arrays with accessories such as HRK or VRK kits.
The loudspeaker is equipped with an innovative input panel offering Phoenix-style connectors and a dual gland nut cover plate for the PI and FG models. For temporary setups, an optional dual NL4 connector cover plate can be added. Each unit comes with an accessible jumper card to switch between passive or biamp operation modes. It also accommodates an optional 70.7/100 Volt transformer kit (TK-150) that mounts easily to the input panel for distributed systems. These features allow for greater flexibility during system design, fulfilling customer requirements with minimal inventory needs.
