The APC NetShelter Rack PDU Advanced is an essential power distribution solution for IT equipment in server and networking racks. Featuring switched outlets, it allows remote control functionality, enabling outlets to be turned on or off as needed. With both outlet and PDU-level power metering, users gain comprehensive power visibility and receive notifications to prevent potential overloads. The innovative 4-in-1 combination outlets, supporting C13, C19, C15, or C21 configurations, offer unmatched deployment flexibility, while the compact design accommodates up to 42 outlets within a 2.2″ wide form factor.
For ease of deployment and maintenance, outlets are color-coded and labeled by breaker and input phase on three-phase models. The alternating phase design strategically organizes outlets into small groups that alternate along the PDU, promoting optimized power cord management and load balancing. These PDUs feature Power Sharing, which, through dual Ethernet ports, allows a Network Management Card (NMC) to function seamlessly even during AC power disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted network communication and sensor operations.
The live swap capability of the NMC facilitates its replacement without shutting down the PDU or connected devices, thereby minimizing downtime. Rated to operate at temperatures up to 60°C (140°F) under full load, this PDU ensures robust performance in high-density environments. Gigabit Ethernet connectivity enhances and standardizes network integration across all data center assets, with an additional 10/100 Ethernet port enabling cascading to other PDUs, connecting to a secondary private network, or providing network redundancy.
The PDU boasts 1% metering accuracy, ensuring precise power usage measurement for reliable billing, capacity planning, and threshold alarm monitoring. Optional environmental sensors can be added via two available ports, further enhancing the system’s functionality.
