The D-Link DXS-3610 Series is an advanced lineup of compact, high-performance Layer 3 stackable 10G managed switches. Engineered for ultra-low latency and robust 10G Ethernet switching and routing, these switches are optimized for enterprise and campus aggregation network environments with a 1U form factor and efficient front-to-back airflow design. The DXS-3610 Series offers two configurations: 48 fixed 10G SFP+ with 6 fixed 100G QSFP28 ports, or 48 fixed 10G Base-T with 6 fixed 100G QSFP28 ports, enabling flexibility for uplink or stacking based on network requirements.
These switches deliver impressive performance with a 10G Ethernet switching capacity reaching up to 2.16 Tbps and forwarding rates up to 1607 Mpps. Enhanced by hot-swappable power supplies and fan trays, the DXS-3610 Series ensures high availability and redundancy. Its modular power design supports both AC and DC power sources, allowing adaptable deployment. Moreover, employing dual power modules can distribute the load, prolonging module lifespan. The modular fan backup further enhances reliability with n+1 redundancy, featuring smart fans that modulate speed to counteract fan failure or heightened temperatures.
The DXS-3610 Series also offers flexible software deployment with two distinct images. The Standard Image incorporates various Layer 2, VLAN, multicasting, Quality of Service (QoS), security, and static routing protocols, including RIP, VRRP, and OSPF. Meanwhile, the Enhanced Image expands capabilities with comprehensive IPv4/v6 routing, BGP, and L3 multicasting features such as IGMP, MLD, PIM-DM, SM, SDM, SSM, and DVMRP. It also supports L2/L3 MPLS VPN for deployment as a core router in enterprise environments or an aggregation switch in MPLS settings. Switch Resource Management (SRM) dynamically adjusts hardware table sizes, optimizing switch functions according to application needs and offering IP Mode, LAN Mode, and L2 VPN Mode for efficient table management.
The DXS-3610 Series embraces software-defined networking (SDN), giving network operators enhanced flexibility and control. By decoupling the control plane from the data plane, SDN enables innovative network design and management through open protocols like OpenFlow. This allows the DXS-3610 Series to foster agile, centrally managed networks, streamline cloud resource abstraction, and simplify network operations.
For failover and redundancy, alongside traditional Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), the series incorporates advanced Ethernet failover technologies such as Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and FlexLink. ERPS offers rapid failover capabilities within ring topologies, achieving millisecond-level response, while FlexLink provides link redundancy on specified switch ports without relying on STP or LBD.
