Description
The ELK-950 is an RJ31/38X Telephone Jack engineered with solid-state transient suppression to safeguard both telephone and low voltage AC transformer inputs within an alarm control system. This surge protection device reacts to power surges and transients in under 1 nanosecond and automatically resets after each surge, as long as it’s within specified ratings. The ELK-950 features a compact design with an easy installation process, high-quality, clearly labeled screw terminals, an 8-pin modular phone connector, a built-in tamper loop, and automatic shorting pins for cord removal. It is FCC registered under Part 68, eliminating the necessity for a separate RJ31X telephone jack. Additionally, the AC transformer inputs can serve to protect data transmission wires, such as those in a keypad or zone expansion bus, provided that any measurable voltage on these two data wires remains below 24 volts.
