Description
**Overview** – The Net2 system is a state-of-the-art networked access control solution providing centralized management, event logging, and dynamic user access control. Each controller operates autonomously, making independent access decisions while retaining event data, even as part of an integrated network.
The Net2 plus controller establishes connection to the central management PC via an RJ45 connector on a standard TCP/IP Ethernet network, significantly enhancing installation flexibility on sites equipped with LAN/WAN infrastructure. Additionally, the Net2 plus includes an RS485 interface to link with other Net2 plus or Net2 classic controllers using a dedicated CAT5 cable.
A single Net2 plus controller can serve as the network gateway to the LAN, facilitating a wired RS485 daisy chain with other Net2 units, eliminating the necessity for a standalone TCP/IP to RS485 converter. The Net2 plus is also available with Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, which transmits power and data over Ethernet cables. PoE-enabled Net2 plus units can be seamlessly integrated into existing LAN setups using a standard RJ45 connector, powered by either a compatible PoE switch or injector.
Controllers are offered in various configurations, including PCB-only, enclosed in plastic housing, or integrated within a monitored backup power supply in a 2A metal/plastic cabinet. The enhanced Net2 plus version comes equipped with a PoE+ power supply, negating the need for a separate mains backup.
**Installation** – The Net2 plus controller is designed for easy installation, featuring clearly labeled and color-coded connectors for readers, power supply, and other components. It includes a voltage-free relay to control locks or electronic devices. Additional peripherals such as exit buttons, door contacts, tamper switches, and alarm devices can be connected.
Controllers communicate with the management PC over the LAN using the standard TCP/IP protocol, and require a fixed/static IP address. All unit configurations are managed through the Net2 Configuration Utility.
Diagnostic LEDs are positioned near relevant terminals to support seamless installation, and built-in end-of-line resistors can be engaged as necessary, eliminating the need for external terminating resistors.
**Functionality** – Any updates executed on the management PC are immediately synchronized and stored within the controller. When a user engages with a reader, the controller processes their credentials, granting or denying access accordingly.
