Stand-alone DS1 – T1/E1 Fiber Optic Network Interface Device
The ION S6010 is a stand-alone managed media converter designed for extending DS1 – T1/E1 or PRI connections over fiber optic cabling. This network interface device facilitates fiber extension through a twisted pair RJ-48 port and a fiber port, requiring a pair of converters for each end of the fiber link. Remote management of the media converter is enabled in-band over the fiber connection, especially when integrated with a C6010 Card in a managed ION Chassis. These DS1 – T1/E1 network interface devices are available with either fixed fiber connectors or an open SFP slot, supporting various fiber types, distances, and wavelengths for maximum network topology flexibility. Additionally, CWDM SFPs can be utilized to enhance the bandwidth capabilities of the fiber infrastructure.
