The HID Global pivCLASS R10 mini-mullion contactless reader is ideal for security environments that require compliance with FIPS-201 standards for “Controlled” access. When integrated with the HID Global pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM), this reader enhances authentication by ensuring the legitimacy of the presented card, verifying that the card data remains intact and unaltered, and confirming the card is an original rather than a duplicate. The pivCLASS R10 reader is compatible with any PIV-based cards featuring an ISO 14443 contactless interface and equipped with a Card Authentication Key (CAK) certificate.
