The HID Global pivCLASS Government Solutions suite empowers organizations to enhance their current physical access control systems (PACS) for FIPS 201 compliance. The pivCLASS contactless readers, including models R10 and R40, along with their proximity-enabled versions, provide the “Controlled” assurance level specified in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-116 guidelines. This is achieved when these readers are used in conjunction with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) for performing single-factor authentication checks.
