HID Global’s pivCLASS reader lineup encompasses a diverse range of contactless, contact-plus-contactless, and biometric readers, tailored for seamless integration with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM). These advanced readers comply with the assurance levels specified in NIST Special Publication 800-116 and adhere to the federal government’s FICAM E-PACS guidelines. They can operate in either Wiegand or PAM mode configurations. The Wiegand mode facilitates deployment without PAM, enabling a gradual transition towards FIPS 201 compliance. Upgrading from Wiegand to PAM mode is easily accomplished by updating the reader firmware on-site.
