HID Global’s pivCLASS Government Solutions suite allows organizations to enhance their current physical access control systems (PACS) to meet FIPS 201 compliance standards. The pivCLASS contactless readers, specifically the R10 and R40 models, along with their proximity-enabled counterparts, provide the “Controlled” assurance level as outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-116 guidelines. This level of security is achieved when these readers are used in conjunction with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) to conduct a single-factor authentication check.
