Description
The pivCLASS® solutions portfolio offers an extensive range of contact, contactless, and biometric pivCLASS® Readers designed to help agencies comply with varying assurance level requirements and NIST SP 800-116 guidelines. These readers integrate with the pivCLASS® Authentication Module (PAM) to satisfy any assurance level needs. Moreover, pivCLASS readers are fully backward compatible with existing iCLASS® and HID Prox readers, facilitating a smooth transition from legacy cards to PKI-based credentials. Up to two pivCLASS readers can connect to a PAM through four-wire RS-485 connections, often allowing facilities to utilize much of their existing wiring infrastructure. Key features include:
– Contactless reader solutions that comply with NIST’s “Controlled” security area assurance level, using single-factor authentication modes like CHUID or CAK.
– Contact reader solutions that meet the “Limited” security area assurance levels, utilizing two-factor authentication modes such as PIV + PIN.
– Biometric (BIO) reader solutions that align with NIST’s “Exclusion” assurance level, leveraging three-factor authentication modes like PIV + PIN + BIO.
– Capability to read FASC-N for non-SP800-116 “uncontrolled” areas and additional TWIC authentication modes, including CHUID + BIO and CAK + BIO.
– Support for nearly any card type, whether contact or contactless, such as PIV, PIV-I, CIV (also known as PIV-C), TWIC, FRAC, and CAC.
