Description
The pivCLASS® solutions portfolio offers a comprehensive range of contact, contactless, and biometric reader technologies tailored to agency needs for compliance with assurance levels and NIST SP 800-116 guidelines. These readers are designed to integrate seamlessly with the pivCLASS® Authentication Module (PAM), ensuring adherence to varying assurance levels. They also support backward compatibility with existing iCLASS® and HID Prox systems, facilitating a smooth migration from legacy cards to PKI-based credentials. Each PAM can connect to up to two pivCLASS readers using four-wire RS-485 connections, allowing facilities to often repurpose existing wiring infrastructure. Key Features include:
– Contactless reader technology aligns with NIST’s “Controlled” security area assurance through a single-factor authentication mode: CHUID or CAK.
– Contact reader technology meets NIST’s “Limited” security area assurance requirements using two-factor authentication: PIV + PIN.
– Contact biometric (BIO) reader technology satisfies NIST’s “Exclusion” assurance level with three-factor authentication: PIV + PIN + BIO.
– FASC-N reads cater to non-SP800-116 “uncontrolled” areas and additional TWIC authentication modes, including CHUID + BIO and CAK + BIO.
– Broad card type compatibility supports contact and contactless formats, such as PIV, PIV-I, CIV (PIV-C), TWIC, FRAC, and CAC.
