Description
The pivCLASS RKCL40 contact and contactless dual interface reader is designed for security areas that require FIPS-201 compliance for “Controlled” and “Limited” access. When paired with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM), this reader offers robust authentication by verifying the authenticity of the presented card, ensuring the card’s data integrity, confirming the card is not a duplicate, and verifying it hasn’t been lost or stolen. In Card Authentication Key (CAK) mode, the reader can handle any PIV-based card with a contactless interface that includes a CAK certificate. In PIV+PIN mode, it supports on-card PIN matching as well as reading and validating the PIV Authentication Key certificate.
