Standalone Fast Ethernet PoE Media Converter for 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX Transition
The SPOEB Series is a versatile 10/100 Ethernet copper-to-fiber PoE media converter designed for seamless integration within enterprise networks to deliver power to network devices using existing CAT5 data lines. These AC-powered PoE media converters expertly merge data coming over a fiber optic link with a -48 VDC power supply, effectively powering Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) Power Devices over unshielded twisted pair cables.
As Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), these PoE converters fully support Powered Devices (PD) that adhere to the IEEE 802.3af standard. Key features include PD signature sensing and power monitoring in alignment with IEEE 802.3af protocols. Additionally, these converters offer Over-Current Protection, Under-Current Detection, and Fault Protection Input, enhancing reliability and safety.
This advanced model allows for the activation or deactivation of various features and lets users configure port capabilities. With the PSE/LPT switch enabled, a loss of Fiber RX signals will temporarily disable PSE power output on the UTP port for 2 seconds, facilitating a remote device re-initialization known as Powered Device Reset. The PoE converter is engineered to inject power onto data pairs or spare pairs of the MDI, ensuring full compatibility with IEEE 802.3af-compliant devices.
