Telecom carriers are accelerating the shift from PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network, also known as POTS) towards comprehensive all-IP communications. Traditional voice services, previously routed through fixed-line analog networks, are now channeled through Voice over IP (VoIP) digital networks. Instead of utilizing PSTN, calls are transmitted via high-bandwidth internet connections directly to homes. These connections can be achieved over existing copper lines using xDSL technology, or through cable or fiber optic systems implemented for copper line termination.
