OmniClass by Honeywell represents a comprehensive series of 13.56 MHz contactless smart card readers, renowned for their high reliability, consistent read range, and straightforward installation process. Designed to meet industry standards, these contactless readers are available in a variety of sizes and incorporate advanced smart card technology, enabling multiple applications on a single physical card and optional mobile credential compatibility. They are versatile, offering retro-fit capabilities for any Wiegand output reader, including standard proximity readers.
Smart card technology within the OmniClass readers is ideal for a range of applications, such as access control, logical (PC) access, biometric template storage, secure parking solutions, tamper-proof secure IDs with embedded digital photos, ePurse functionalities, and more. OmniClass also integrates HID’s Mobile Access platform, introducing Bluetooth capability that allows users to utilize a compatible smartphone as a credential.
Available in both mobile-ready and mobile-enabled configurations, these readers offer flexibility for implementing mobile credentials. With multi-technology functionality, OmniClass readers support a seamless transition from a 125 kHz prox card system to a smart card system, offering compatibility with HID Prox, EM4102, and AWID proximity technologies. Capable of working with different technologies simultaneously, these readers ensure ease of transition to smart cards over time while supporting multiple card technologies across single or multiple facilities. Whether reading proximity, mobile, smart, or multi-technology credentials, the readers transmit identical user identification data formats to the panel, ensuring a transparent experience for users.
