Description
The Model WOR Wiegand Output Receiver is engineered to function as an access control interface for block coded digital transmitters. This device captures signals from transmitters, appends a facility code to the data, and relays this information to the Wiegand input of an access control panel through a 5-wire connection.
The unit features configurable options for both transmitters and receivers via dipswitch settings. It supports three Wiegand output formats—26, 30, and 31-bit. Adjustable receiver options include lockout, hold, and button offset functions. Transmitter buttons can be selectively disabled on multi-button units, while the facility code is configured using 16 dipswitches.
The receiver is compatible with three types of antennas. The local whip antenna, included with the receiver, attaches directly to it. Additionally, directional (EXA-2000) and omni-directional (EXA-1000) remote antennas connect to the receiver’s antenna input using RG-59 cable and a type F connector.
A built-in RADIO RANGE knob allows users to adjust the receiver’s gain, effectively limiting its maximum radio range if needed. Monitoring its performance is facilitated by two indicators: the red RADIO indicator illuminates upon detection of a radio signal, and the dual-color red/green STATUS indicator lights green when transmitting Wiegand data and during the 1-second post-receiver lockout timer, should receiver lockout be activated. When the HOLD input connected to the access control panel is active, the STATUS indicator turns red. The receiver also includes test points for connecting an audio amplifier to monitor incoming signals.
Encased in a weather-resistant enclosure, the receiver is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, complete with gaskets and weather-tight wiring strain relief to protect against environmental elements.
