Description
The ANSI-compliant MS1850SN Series Deadlock is engineered for optimal security, featuring a robust laminated stainless steel bolt, while the MS1850SN-45X Series showcases a durable stainless steel hookbolt. Both systems incorporate a pivot mechanism for heightened security on hollow metal or wooden doors.
**Function**
Tailored for hollow metal or wooden doors prepared according to ANSI specifications, the MS1850SN Series Deadlock ensures enhanced security and simplified installation. Its standard 1-1/2″ (38.1 mm) backset allows for appropriate clearance with the deep stop typically found on hollow metal entrances.
The ANSI-sized MS1850SN-45X Series Deadlock offers superior security and easy installation for hollow metal or wood sliding doors. This model’s standard 1-1/2″ (38.1 mm) backset dimension accommodates the deep jamb “pocket” of many commercial and industrial entries. The locking mechanism mirrors the popular MS1850S Series Deadlock, with a massive laminated bolt designed in a hook shape to counteract the sliding motion between the door and jamb. The maximum security (MS) locking action ensures resistance to forced entry attempts from any direction. It is also suitable for swinging doors that close against jambs too shallow for the 1-3/8″ (34.9 mm) throw of the MS1850SN Series Deadlock.
**Operation**
With a 360° key or thumbturn rotation, the counterbalanced bolt can be deployed or retracted. The key is removable only when the bolt is securely in the locked or unlocked position. The lock accommodates any standard 1″ (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32″ (29.4 mm) diameter mortise cylinder with an MS cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder, available separately, or a thumbturn like the 4066 Thumbturn, also available separately. The design supports cylinder installation on either or both sides of the locking mechanism.
