Description
**Description:** The 7130 and 7131 electric strikes, featuring 6-7/8″ faceplates, are engineered for compatibility with deadlatches or cylindrical locksets that have a 1/2″ to 5/8″ latchbolt projection. These electric strikes are ideal for use in aluminum door jambs and stiles.
**Function:** These electric strikes enable remote electrical control of narrow stile or hollow metal doors equipped with Adams Rite Series 4500, 4700, or 4900 Series (or similar) deadlatches or cylindrical (key-in-knob/lever) locksets featuring a 1/2″ to 5/8″ latchbolt projection. The larger faceplate is designed to seamlessly cover the strike opening when transitioning from an MS pivoted-bolt deadlock to a deadlatch. Through electrical actuation, the strike jaw is unlocked, releasing the latchbolt to allow door access without manual latch operation. Designed with an extremely compact mechanism, these units fit within aluminum jambs or opposing door sections as shallow as 1-5/8″. They serve as replacements for the discontinued electric strike series 7030, 7530, and 7830.
**Specifications:**
– **Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure:** The electric strikes are field convertible between fail-safe and fail-secure modes. Note that the AC intermittent solenoid is not intended for continuous use in either mode.
– **Case Dimensions:** Approximately 1″ x 3-3/8″ x 1-5/8″ deep.
– **Strike Lip:** The 7130 model features a strike lip designed to suit a 1-3/4″ thick door that closes flush with the jamb edge. For doors with different thicknesses or varying jamb shapes, lip extension kits are available (specified by the last dash number). Lip extensions are not available for the 7131 model.
– **Strike Opening:** Measures 5/8″ x 1-7/16″ x 1/2″ deep, and includes a stainless steel bolt retainer jaw. It accommodates bolts of Adams Rite 4500, 4700 (discontinued), or 4900 deadlatch or cylindrical latches.
– **Faceplate:** The faceplate measures 1-1/4″ x 6-7/8″, with the 7130 offering a flat faceplate and the 7131 featuring a radiused design to complement the nose on the inactive leaf in a pair of narrow stile glass doors. They are available in a broad spectrum of architectural finishes.
– **Voltage Options:** Compatible with 12 or 24-volt AC and DC power supplies. DC continuous units operate silently, whereas AC intermittent units emit a “buzz” during operation.
