Description
**Product Description:**
The 7130 and 7131 Electric Strikes, featuring 6-7/8″ faceplates, are tailored for use with Adams Rite deadlatches or compatible cylindrical locksets, accommodating latchbolt projections of 1/2″ to 5/8″. These strikes are specifically designed for integration into aluminum jambs and stiles.
**Functionality:**
These electric strikes provide remote electrical control for narrow stile or hollow metal doors equipped with Adams Rite Series 4500, 4700, or 4900 Series (and similar) deadlatches, as well as cylindrical locksets (key-in-knob/lever type) with latchbolt projections between 1/2″ to 5/8″. The large faceplate effectively covers existing strike openings when transitioning from an MS pivoted-bolt deadlock to a deadlatch. Upon electrical activation, the strike jaw is unlocked, allowing the latchbolt to release so the door can be opened without manually engaging the latch. Its highly compact design fits into aluminum jamb sections (or opposing door frames) as shallow as 1-5/8″. It serves as a replacement for discontinued models such as the 7030, 7530, and 7830 Electric Strikes.
**Technical Specifications:**
– **Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure:** The strike can be field converted between modes, though the AC intermittent solenoid should not be continuously used in either configuration.
– **Case Dimensions:** Approximately 1″ x 3-3/8″ x 1-5/8″ deep.
– **Strike Lip:** The standard 7130 strike features a lip suitable for 1-3/4″ thick doors that close flush with the jamb edge. Lip extension kits are available for differing door thicknesses or jamb shapes, specified by the last dash number. These kits are not available for the 7131 model.
– **Strike Opening:** Measures 5/8″ x 1-7/16″ x 1/2″ deep, with a stainless steel bolt retainer jaw. It accommodates bolts from Adams Rite 4500, 4700 (discontinued), or 4900 Deadlatches or cylindrical latches.
– **Faceplate:** The faceplate dimensions are 1-1/4″ x 6-7/8″. The 7130 model has a flat faceplate, while the 7131 model features a radius to match the nose on the inactive leaf of a pair of narrow stile glass doors. They are available in a variety of architectural finishes.
– **Voltage Options:** Available in 12 or 24 volt AC and DC. DC continuous units operate silently, whereas AC intermittent units produce a “buzz” during operation.
