**Description:** The 7130 and 7131 Electric Strikes feature 6-7/8″ faceplates tailored for use with deadlatches or cylindrical locksets featuring latchbolt projections of 1/2″ to 5/8″. They are expertly engineered for installation within aluminum door frames and stiles.
**Function:** These electric strikes offer remote electronic control for narrow stile or hollow metal doors outfitted with compatible deadlatches or cylindrical locksets, including Series 4500, 4700, or 4900 units. The large faceplate effectively conceals the strike opening when transitioning from an MS pivoted-bolt deadlock to a deadlatch. Upon electrical activation, the strike jaw unlocks, allowing the latchbolt to release so the door can be opened without manual operation. The compact design is ideally suited for installation in aluminum jambs or shallow door sections, accommodating depths as minimal as 1-5/8″. This model serves as a contemporary replacement for previously discontinued electric strikes.
**Specifications:**
– **Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure:** This unit can be field converted between fail-safe and fail-secure modes. Note that the AC intermittent solenoid should not be maintained in continuous operation.
– **Case Dimensions:** Approximately 1″ x 3-3/8″ x 1-5/8″ deep.
– **Strike Lip:** The standard 7130 model includes a lip designed for 1-3/4″ thick doors closing flush with the jamb edge. Lip extension kits are available for doors with differing thicknesses or jamb shapes, but these are not provided for the 7131 model.
– **Strike Opening:** Measuring 5/8″ x 1-7/16″ x 1/2″ deep, the strike’s stainless steel bolt retainer jaw is compatible with bolts from any compatible deadlatch or cylindrical latch.
– **Faceplate:** The faceplate measures 1-1/4″ x 6-7/8″. The 7130 features a flat faceplate, while the 7131 has a radiused design to match the profile of narrow stile glass doors. Faceplates are available in a variety of architectural finishes.
– **Voltage:** Offered in both 12 and 24 volt AC and DC options. DC models operate silently on a continuous basis, whereas AC models emit a “buzz” during operation.
