It is engineered for quick and easy installation, requiring minimal or no modifications to the frame. Installation is straightforward: simply remove the existing strike plate, take out the dust box, and install the new unit. Its durability and strength come from a unique keeper pin locking mechanism, allowing the 8500 to surpass Grade 1 ratings. This specialized electric strike meets NFPA 80-07 standards for retrofitting into fire-rated frames and is compatible with mortise latchbolts up to 3/4″ throw.
