**Standard Duty Deadlatch**
The 4510 Series Standard Duty Deadlatch provides effective traffic control for a variety of security applications, including healthcare, financial institutions, and retail environments. This locking solution allows for free entrance during operational hours and exit-only access during off-hours, offering versatility for multiple industries.
**Functionality**
The 4510 Series offers flexible traffic management, safely accommodating two-way traffic by utilizing a reverse turn of the key to hold the bolt retracted. It seamlessly integrates without stile modification with any MS1850S Deadlock of the same backset and faceplate configuration but does not offer the same high-security level as the MS® Deadlock.
**Operation**
The deadlatch is operated by turning a key or using a handle or paddle to retract the spring-loaded latchbolt. To keep the bolt retracted, the bolt is pushed in and secured with a reverse key turn. This lock is compatible with any standard mortise cylinder with an MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder or the 4066 Thumbturn, available separately. It accepts cylinders from one or both sides.
**Specifications**
– **Cylinder Backset:** Available in 7/8″ [22.2 mm], 31/32″ [24.6 mm], 1-1/8″ [28.6 mm], or 1-1/2″ [38.1 mm].
– **Case:** Constructed from steel with corrosion-resistant plating, dimensions 1″ x 5-13/16″ x depth [25.4 mm x 147.6 mm x depth], depth varies by backset.
– **Bolt Holdback:** When fully retracted, a reverse key turn retains the bolt allowing free door swinging.
– **Latchbolt:** Features an all-metal construction with hardened steel internal pins, reversible handing, dimensions 1/2″ x 1″ x 1/2″ [12.7 mm x 25.4 mm x 12.7 mm] throw.
– **Auxiliary Bolt:** Metal construction deadlocks the latchbolt to prevent unauthorized entry or loiding.
– **Faceplate:** Measures 1″ x 6-7/8″ [25.4 mm x 174.6 mm].
– **Strike:** Standard strike provided is 4902-01 for flat jambs. Additional options include radius strike for paired doors, longer strikes (4901) to cover slot strike of MS lock, and long lip strikes for center-hung doors.
**Packaging**
Each deadlatch is individually boxed and includes the strike and mounting screws. Cylinders, paddles, and handles are available separately.
