**Standard Duty Deadlatch**
The 4510 series Standard Duty Deadlatches offer versatile access control suitable for managing traffic flow during and after business hours across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and retail.
**Function**
The 4510 Series Deadlatch ensures flexible traffic control by allowing a reverse turn of the key to hold the bolt retracted. This feature enables two-way access at designated times or restricted one-way exit at other times, ideal for environments such as financial institutions, healthcare facilities, and retail establishments. This lock can be interchanged with any MS1850S Deadlock of the same backset and faceplate size without modifying the stile. Note, however, it does not provide the enhanced security level of the MS® Deadlock.
**Operation**
To operate, simply turn the key or use the handle or paddle to retract the spring-loaded latchbolt. The bolt can be held retracted by pushing it in and securing it with a reverse key turn. The lock is compatible with any standard 1″ [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32″ [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinder featuring the MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder or the 4066 Thumbturn, both available separately. This lock accepts a cylinder on one or both sides.
**Features**
– **Cylinder Backset:** Options include 7/8″ [22.2 mm], 31/32″ [24.6 mm], 1-1/8″ [28.6 mm], or 1-1/2″ [38.1 mm].
– **Case:** Constructed from steel with corrosion-resistant plating, the case measures 1″ x 5-13/16″ in depth [25.4 mm x 147.6 mm]. Depth varies according to backset.
– **Bolt Holdback:** The bolt can be retained in a fully retracted position with a reverse turn of the key, enabling free door movement.
– **Latchbolt:** Composed of all-metal materials with hardened steel internal pins. Reversible handing without additional tools, with dimensions of 1/2″ x 1″ x 1/2″ [12.7 mm x 25.4 mm x 12.7 mm] throw.
– **Auxiliary Bolt:** Made entirely from metal, it deadlocks the latchbolt to prevent unauthorized entry methods like loiding or case-knife attacks.
– **Faceplate:** Measures 1″ x 6-7/8″ [25.4 mm x 174.6 mm].
– **Strike:** The standard strike, model 4902-01, is provided for flat jambs where doors close flush. Additional options include a radius strike for paired opposite stile doors and longer strikes like model 4901 to cover MS lock slot strikes. Long lip strikes for center-hung doors are also available separately.
– **Standard Package:** Each unit is individually boxed and comes with a strike and mounting screws. Additional components like the cylinder, paddle, and handle are available separately.
