**Standard Duty Deadlatch**
The 4510 Series Standard Duty Deadlatch is designed to provide adaptable traffic control for various commercial environments like healthcare facilities, financial institutions, and retail spaces, both during business hours and after.
**Functionality**
The 4510 Series Standard Duty Deadlatch enables versatile traffic management by allowing a reverse key turn while the bolt is held retracted. This feature permits two-way access during designated periods and restricts it to exit-only at other times. These deadlatches are interchangeable with any MS1850S Deadlock that shares the same backset and faceplate configuration, without requiring stile modification. However, it is important to note that they do not offer the same high-security level as the MS® Deadlock.
**Operation**
The deadlatch operates by turning a key or using a handle or paddle to retract the spring-loaded latchbolt. To keep the bolt retracted, simply push it in and turn the key in reverse. The lock is compatible with any standard mortise cylinder equipped with an MS® cam, which is sold separately. This includes any standard 1″ [25.4 mm] length, 1-5/32″ [29.4 mm] diameter mortise cylinder with an MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder, or a thumbturn like the 4066 Thumbturn, both available separately. The lock can accommodate a cylinder from either one or both sides.
