Functionality
The 4510 Standard Duty Deadlatch is designed to enhance traffic flow control in environments such as hospitals, banks, retail stores, and other facilities requiring adaptable access management. By performing a reverse key turn while the bolt is retracted, the latch enables two-way access, facilitating entry during specific periods and exit-only access at other times. It is compatible and interchangeable with any MS1850A or MS1850S Deadlock of the same backset and faceplate shape without needing stile modification. However, this deadlatch does not provide the same high-security level as the MS® Deadlock.
Operation
The latchbolt can be retracted by either turning a key or using the handle. To secure the bolt in a retracted position, simply push the bolt in and perform a reverse key turn. The system utilizes any standard mortise cylinder with an MS® dimensioned cam.
