**Standard Duty Deadlatch Overview**
The 4510 Series Standard Duty Deadlatch is designed to offer versatile access control for various industries, including healthcare, financial services, and retail. This deadlatch provides a flexible solution for managing traffic flow during and after operating hours, with the ability to allow free entry or restricted exit as needed. It can be interchanged with any MS1850S Deadlock without requiring modifications to the stile, while offering a moderate level of security compared to the MS® Deadlock.
**Functionality**
The 4510 Series Deadlatch is engineered to handle traffic management efficiently. Using a key for the reverse operation keeps the bolt retracted, allowing two-way access when required. This is ideal for environments that demand adaptable entry and exit solutions at different times.
**Operation**
Activate the spring-loaded latchbolt by turning a key or using a compatible handle or paddle. To retain the bolt in a retracted position, press it in and engage it with a reverse key turn. This deadlatch accommodates any standard mortise cylinder with an MS® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder or the 4066 Thumbturn, all available separately. It offers the flexibility of cylinder installation from one or both sides.

– **Bolt Holdback:** The reverse key turn retains the bolt in a retracted state, permitting a swinging door function.
– **Latchbolt:** Composed entirely of metal with hardened steel internal pins, reversible without special tools, and measures 1/2″ x 1″ x 1/2″ [12.7 mm x 25.4 mm x 12.7 mm] throw.
– **Auxiliary Bolt:** All-metal design that deadlocks the latchbolt to prevent unauthorized entry attempts like “loiding.”

– **Strike Options:** The standard strike 4902-01 suits flat jamb applications. Additional strike options include radius strike for paired doors, extended strike (4901) for MS lock slot coverage, and long lip strikes for center-hung doors.

Each deadlatch is individually boxed, including a strike and mounting screws. Additional components such as the cylinder, paddle, or handle are sold separately.
