**Heavy Duty Deadlatch Solution**

**Heavy Duty Commercial Deadlatch**

The Heavy Duty 4900 Series Deadlatch offers versatile access control and straightforward installation ideal for commercial building environments.

**Functionality**

The 4900 Series Heavy Duty Deadlatch delivers adaptable traffic management with ease of installation. Featuring a key-controlled bolt hold-back function, it supports bi-directional access, making it suitable for applications needing unrestricted entry at certain times and exit-only at others. This feature allows a secured entrance to serve as an exit for occupants already inside. It requires a door thickness of at least 1-3/4″ (44.5 mm) and is interchangeable with any MS1850S deadbolt of the same backset and faceplate design, seamlessly retrofitting existing 4510 and discontinued 4700 Deadlatch preparations without stile modification.

**Operation**

Users can retract the spring-loaded latchbolt by turning the key or operating the handle or paddle. To hold the bolt retracted, simply press it in and secure it with a reverse key turn. The lock accommodates any standard 1″ (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32″ (29.4 mm) diameter mortise cylinder with MSĀ® cam, such as the 4036 Mortise Cylinder, or thumbturn, like the 4066 Thumbturn, both available separately. The lock accepts a cylinder from either or both sides.

**Features**

– **Cylinder Backset**: Options include 31/32″ (24.6 mm), 1-1/8″ (28.6 mm), or 1-1/2″ (38.1 mm).

– **Construction**: Crafted from steel with corrosion-resistant plating, measuring 7/8″ x 5-13/16″ in height and width. Depth varies according to backset specifications. The design includes screw-fastened tube spacer brackets for easy removal during tab mounting.

– **Bolt Holdback**: A reverse key turn keeps the bolt fully retracted, permitting the door to swing freely.

– **Latchbolt**: The solid brass latchbolt is reversible without the need for special tools, measuring 5/8″ x 1″ x 5/8″ (15.9 mm x 25.4 mm x 15.9 mm).

– **Auxiliary Linchpin**: Made from stainless steel to deadlock the latch bolt, preventing tampering or forced entry.

– **Faceplate**: Sized at 1″ x 6-7/8″ (25.4 mm x 174.6 mm), both flat and radius versions are included. Flat faceplates can be field-adjusted for doors with right or left beveled edges.

– **Strike Options**: The standard 4902 strike is provided for flat jambs where the door closes flush. The 4901 is suggested for retrofit installations. Additional options include radius strikes for paired doors with opposite stiles and extended lip strikes suitable for center-hung doors.

**Standard Package**

Each unit is individually boxed with a strike plate, flat and radius faceplates, and all necessary mounting screws. Compatible cylinders, paddles, and handles are available separately.
