The adhesive utilized is a Loctite anaerobic type specifically engineered for this application. When applied correctly, this adhesive forms a permanent bond surpassing the strength of glass. To ensure optimal performance, it is critical to adhere to the application instructions meticulously.
The installer must precisely determine the bracket’s placement on the door and mark this location using a grease pencil or a comparable method. This step is essential because once the adhesive cures, repositioning or removing the bracket becomes nearly impossible. When choosing the bracket’s position, keep in mind that the strike is larger than the bracket. In most installations, the objective is to align the top of the strike plate just beneath the top of the door to ensure it aligns with the magnet face without scraping the door header. Take the necessary time to pinpoint the correct bracket position for the specific installation.
