Simplifying Network Integration for Access Control
The Kantech IP Link (KT-IP) acts as an RS-232 to TCP/IP interface, enabling seamless connectivity of KT-100 or KT-300 door controllers to your network. This integration minimizes cabling requirements and empowers controllers with real-time data access and enhanced functionality by utilizing the bidirectional communication features of TCP/IP. The KT-IP effortlessly integrates into existing TCP/IP ecosystems without the need for modifications to current equipment, network infrastructure, or systems. It works smoothly with EntraPass security management software, employing 128-bit AES encryption for secure data exchange.
Data transfer from the door controller operates asynchronously with TCP/IP network actions, allowing the KT-IP to poll door controllers and communicate with the EntraPass Multi-Site Gateway only when specific events occur. The communication is kept secure and reliable through a heartbeat signal sent at regular intervals to the EntraPass software. This asynchronous data management reduces network bandwidth consumption needed for overseeing the access control system.
The KT-IP is user-friendly and simple to configure. It can be set up using an EntraPass workstation, a web browser, or the KT-Finder, a standalone application designed for identifying and configuring the KT-IP. Typically, the EntraPass software automatically detects and configures the KT-IP via its MAC address, simplifying the installation process.
