Description
The Schlage Panel Interface Board (PIB300 or PIB301) facilitates the integration of RS485-based access control devices into systems that utilize the Wiegand or clock and data protocols, rather than direct RS-485 interfaces.
This interface board supports two-way communication with locking mechanisms through an RS-485 connection. The PIB300 can connect to up to two Schlage AD-300 locks or two legacy locks using RS-485 communication via the RSI or VIP protocols, and can interface with an Access Control Panel (ACP) or a reader interface board.
The trouble signal output is triggered when the Anti-Tamper Switch (ATS) detects that the enclosure lid of the PIB300/PIB301 is open, or if an access control device reports a trouble status. To optimize performance, the PIB300/PIB301 should be positioned near the access control panel, supporting a wiring distance of up to 500 feet (152 meters).
