The Avigilon™ Access Control Manager (ACM) platform integrates the Schlage PIM400-485-RSI panel interface module from Allegion as a key component of its advanced wireless lock system. This panel interface module (PIM) facilitates seamless communication between the ACM and Schlage AD-400 series wireless locks, offering robust security solutions.
The Schlage PIM400-485-RSI PIM is engineered to integrate efficiently with the Mercury EP2500 controller, streamlining installation by eliminating the need for additional reader interface modules. Each PIM can support up to 16 Schlage AD-400 wireless locks, enhancing scalability and ease of management.
Featuring high transmission power, this setup utilizes 900 MHz spread spectrum technology in a license-free band to ensure reliable communication. An advanced error detection algorithm guarantees data integrity on each transmission, while redundant transmissions and periodic “heartbeat” signals maintain consistent RF communications. In challenging RF environments, dynamic channel switching (DCS) can be enabled to automatically change channels and avoid interference.
Popular in government and military applications, spread spectrum technology offers significant security advantages. These transmissions are secured with AES 128-bit encryption, rendering wireless access virtually secure. Scalability is nearly limitless, with each AD-400 Series wireless module capable of selecting from nearly one million addresses during the linking process.
The innovative patent-pending Wake up on Radio (WOR) feature enables rapid communication within 10 seconds or less from the PIM400 to any linked wireless device. This functionality works in tandem with heartbeat signals to maintain up to two years of battery life for AD-400 Series locks. With WOR, the response rate is adjustable to one second to conserve battery life, making it ideal for critical applications when combined with dynamic channel switching.
