Description
**Industry Overview**
The WRI400 serves as a sophisticated networked access point controller specifically engineered to facilitate wireless connectivity for traditional electronic access control systems. It seamlessly integrates with crucial security components such as credential readers, door position sensors, and request-to-exit switches.
Acting as a Wireless Reader Interface, the WRI400 offers convenient local termination points for a variety of access control elements, including wall or mullion-mounted readers, door position indicators, request-to-exit (RX) devices, and reader tamper detectors. It transmits critical data through a 900MHz channel back to either a PIM400-485 or PIM400-TD2, which are directly hardwired to the Access Control Panel (ACP). Here, all access decisions and system-specific reports are processed and logged.
Designed for compatibility with a wide range of popular Wiegand or Clock & Data format readers, the WRI400 enhances the functionality at each entry point. It employs two onboard Form C relays to control electronic locking mechanisms and other devices like automatic door operators.
The WRI400 is particularly advantageous for extending the reach of your access control infrastructure to areas where network cabling may be challenging to deploy. It is exceptionally suitable for applications involving remote entry points, historic properties, gates, and elevators. Built on an open architecture platform, the WRI400 ensures seamless integration with most existing access control systems in the industry.
