Description
**Overview**: The Paxton10 Door Controller serves as a fundamental component in the Paxton10 access control system, offering control for individual doors and supporting up to three additional connectors for enhanced functionality. A single system can accommodate up to 1000 door controllers. These controllers operate as network devices using TCP/IP, allowing seamless integration into existing network infrastructures.
**PoE+ Capability**: Equipped with an integrated PoE+ splitter, the Paxton10 PoE+ Door Controller facilitates power delivery to both the controller and the door lock without the need for a direct 230V connection at the door. Utilization of a TCP/IP network switch with PoE+ output is advised. For added reliability, incorporating a backup battery into the controller is possible, and positioning the network switch behind a UPS is recommended for extra power security.
The door controller includes 4 inputs: tamper, 230V fail, door contact, and RTE. Integration with an intruder alarm system is achievable via the dedicated Paxton10 alarm connector. Options for power include mains power and PCB versions, either with or without a plastic enclosure.
**Installation**: A convenient wiring label on the Paxton10 Door Controller displays color-coded connections for components such as readers, power supplies, and locks. The 12V output is versatile, allowing control of various access points like doors, barriers, and gates. Diagnostic LEDs provide clear indications of the controller’s status and its input/output functions.
Controllers connect directly to the network via TCP/IP and are instantly recognized in the Paxton10 software under the devices menu.
**Operation**: Updates made in the Paxton10 software are instantly relayed to the door controller. When a user presents their access token to the reader, the controller promptly identifies the individual and grants or restricts access accordingly.
