The iCLASS® Prox Proximity Smart Card integrates advanced iCLASS smart card technology with HID 125 kHz Proximity technology, all encapsulated within a single ISO standard thickness card. This integration allows for seamless addition of contactless smart card functionalities to existing HID Prox access control systems.
iCLASS technology was engineered to enhance access control systems, offering superior security, versatility, and strength compared to traditional 125 kHz frequency systems. The iCLASS 13.56 MHz read/write, contactless smart card technology facilitates wide-ranging interoperability in applications including access control, network log-on security, cashless vending, time and attendance, event management, and biometric identification.
This smart card technology supports mutual authentication between the card and reader, secure data transfer, and utilizes 64-bit diversified keys to enable secure read/write operations. Despite these advanced security features, iCLASS Prox has evolved to counter modern hacking methods. The card complies with ISO standards for card size and thickness, making it suitable for use with direct image and thermal transfer printers. It features a high-quality surface for optimal Photo ID printing and is available in standard PVC construction or a durable polyester/PVC composite to withstand high wear environments. Additionally, the card can be manufactured with visual security and anti-counterfeiting measures, such as holograms, ultra-violet fluorescent inks, micro-printing, or custom logos, to ensure quick and easy authentication of genuine cards.
