Description
The PB22 model is a spring-loaded, momentary action, 2-inch square exit button featuring bi-color LED illumination. It’s designed for mounting on a stainless steel single-gang outlet box cover. The double pole double throw (DPDT) contacts operate when the button is pressed and reset when released, with UL-listed contact ratings of 5 AMP capacity. The exit button includes an indicator LED positioned above it and a switch LED that lights up the button.
Both the indicator and switch LEDs can be operated independently to suit specific installation requirements. The PB22 is suitable for momentary operation of fail-safe or fail-secure electric locks. When used with a release hold timer, such as the Securitron TimeMate, it supports timed release functionalities for electric locks. Additionally, it can serve as a request to exit (REX) input for card reader systems. Prior consultation with local building or fire safety authorities is advised to ensure compliance when using exit buttons for door egress, as regulations may necessitate the use of “no special knowledge” exit devices, such as the Securitron Touch Sense Bar.
