Description
The model PB5E is a spring-loaded, momentary exit button with a 2″ diameter, designed for seamless integration into a stainless steel single gang outlet box cover. It features DPDT contacts that switch upon button depression and automatically reset upon release. These UL-listed contacts support a 5 AMP capacity, making the PB5E ideal for the momentary release of fail-safe or fail-secure electric locks. When paired with a release hold timer, it can facilitate timed release operations for electric locks. Additionally, it can serve as a Request to Exit (REX) input for card reader access control systems. For compliance with safety standards, it is advisable to consult local building or fire safety authorities before deploying exit buttons for door egress, as some jurisdictions may mandate a “no special knowledge” exit device, such as a Touch Sense Bar.
