Description

The Quiet Electric Latch Retraction (QEL) technology offers advanced electronic control over exit devices, ideal for areas requiring minimal operational noise. Especially suited for settings such as hospitals, libraries, museums, and theaters, where ambient sound needs to be kept at bay, this solution is compatible with a range of exit devices, including the 98/99, 94/95, and 33A/35A series.

These exit devices consistently ensure mechanical egress capabilities. The electrified latch retraction feature integrates seamlessly with access control systems or building automation systems, allowing momentary unlatching for controlled access. The QEL is often paired with credential readers to facilitate temporary door unlocking for authorized personnel.

Additionally, the QEL system can be set for prolonged electronic latch retraction, providing a convenient alternative to mechanical dogging. This option is further customizable with hex dogging (HD-QEL) and special center case dogging (SD-QEL) for rim and vertical device configurations.

Suitable for both panic and fire-rated devices, QEL-equipped systems on fire-rated openings meet crucial safety standards. They are required to self-latch and self-close, typically in conjunction with an automatic operator and under the guidance of an automatic fire alarm system to meet fire safety specifications.
