Overview – The Paxton10 Slimline Reader seamlessly integrates advanced multi-format technology within its compact design (48mm width for mullion mounting) to enhance the Paxton10 access control system.
This slimline reader is equipped with cutting-edge multi-format reading capabilities, enabling it to simultaneously process a range of card and token types. It supports widely used formats including Paxton, EM, MIFARE® DESFIRE® CSN, HID® Prox 125kHz, FeliCa, and NFC.
Installation – Featuring color-coded wiring, the reader can easily be connected to a Paxton10 Door or Video controller by matching colors. To maintain optimal read range, avoid installation on metal surfaces or near other proximity readers. The centrally exiting cable from the back simplifies accurate drilling and mounting.
The reader comes with 5 meters of cable, which can be extended using Belden 8723 cable.
Functionality – Tokens are identified by holding them close to the reader, which then contacts the control unit to verify the user’s access permissions. Access is approved or denied based on these permissions.
The reader also supports three distinct Bluetooth® operating modes for smart credential use: token, touch-to-enter, and long-range modes.
