Overview
The P Series readers are designed for integration with the Switch2 and Net2 access control systems. These access control readers are initially offered with black fascias, with optional replacements available in both black and white/gray. Registered installers can obtain these fascia replacements at no cost through the Extranet platform. P Series readers come in four distinct sizes, catering to a variety of installation needs.
Incorporating advanced Genuine HID Technology, the majority of our access readers now support reading HID 125kHz Proximity tokens, provided they are licensed using an activation card. These readers can also be configured for Wiegand output functionality by using a separate activation card.
Installation Details
Installation requires wiring the reader as indicated on the control unit label. It’s crucial to install the reader away from metal surfaces and other proximity readers to maintain optimal read range. The design allows for precision during installation, with cable exiting centrally from the back of the reader to facilitate clean drilling and mounting.
Functionality
The operation involves presenting a token near the reader to be scanned. Once read, the access control system verifies the token’s permissions and either grants or denies access accordingly. Upon access approval, the green LED will flash, whereas access denial will trigger the red LED to flash.
