Description
**Overview** – The P-series readers are specially designed for compatibility with Switch2 and Net2 access control systems. These readers come equipped with black fascias by default. However, for registered Paxton installers, replacement fascias are available at no cost through the Extranet in both black and white/gray. The P-series readers are available in four different sizes.
Recognizing the demand for versatile access solutions, most Paxton readers now feature Genuine HID Technology, enabling them to read HID 125kHz Proximity tokens when activated with a license card. Additionally, these readers can be configured to provide Wiegand output, with the appropriate activation card.
**Installation** – The wiring setup for the reader is clearly indicated on the control unit label. It’s crucial to avoid installation on metal surfaces or in close proximity to other proximity readers, as this can interfere with read range. The cable exits centrally from the rear of the reader, ensuring precision during drilling and mounting.
**Operation** – To read a token, simply hold it near the reader. Once detected, the control unit verifies the user’s access permissions. Access is granted or denied accordingly, with a green LED flashing for granted access and a red LED for denied access.
