The AXIS A4120-E reader is a perfect complement to Axis’s network door controllers and credentials, ensuring smooth integration within a comprehensive Axis security infrastructure. Featuring a user-friendly touch keypad, this RFID reader is built for unlimited usage. An optional braille label accessory with embossed braille lettering is available to assist the visually impaired. With robust IP66, NEMA 4X, and IK07 ratings, the reader is engineered for durability in demanding environments, with an optional weathershield available for added protection.

It supports a wide range of smart RFID card standards using 13.56MHz credential technologies, including MIFARE Classic®, MIFARE Plus®, and MIFARE DESFire® EV1 and EV2. It also features built-in support for the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), enabling secure bidirectional communication. The reader is straightforward to install on single gang boxes or wall-mounted, offering effortless remote management of device configurations, security enhancements, and feature upgrades through Axis access control solutions.

The AXIS A4120-E RFID reader supports Secure Channel Protocol (SCP) for secure communications and is equipped with integrated cybersecurity features to deter unauthorized access. With signed firmware and secure boot capabilities, the reader ensures that the firmware remains uncompromised and only authorized firmware is installed. Secure boot further ensures the device is free from malware, even after a factory reset. The device includes an EAL6+ Certified Secure Element for heightened protection, and its tamper detection notifies users of any interference attempts with the device.
