Description
The pivCLASS® solutions portfolio offers a comprehensive range of contact, contactless, and biometric readers designed to help organizations meet assurance level requirements and comply with the NIST SP 800-116 guidelines. These advanced readers integrate seamlessly with the Authentication Module (PAM) to fulfill varied assurance needs. The pivCLASS readers also ensure complete backward compatibility with existing iCLASS® and HID Prox technology, facilitating a smooth transition from legacy cards to PKI-based credentials. Utilizing four-wire RS-485 connections, up to two pivCLASS readers can connect to a single PAM, allowing facilities to leverage existing wiring infrastructure. Key features of the solution include:
– A contactless reader solution that meets NIST’s “Controlled” security area requirements with single-factor authentication modes: CHUID or CAK.
– A contact reader solution that fulfills NIST’s “Limited” security area assurance standards using two-factor authentication: PIV + PIN.
– A contact biometric (BIO) reader solution that satisfies NIST’s “Exclusion” assurance level with three-factor authentication: PIV + PIN + BIO.
– Capability to read FASC-N for non-SP800-116 “uncontrolled” areas, including additional TWIC authentication modes such as CHUID + BIO and CAK + BIO.
– Compatibility with almost any card type, whether contact or contactless, including PIV, PIV-I, CIV (also known as PIV-C), TWIC, FRAC, and CAC.
