Description
HID Global’s pivCLASS RK40 wall switch with a keypad contactless reader is designed for secure access control systems that comply with FIPS-201 standards for “Controlled” access areas. It facilitates the use of a personal identification number (PIN) entered through the keypad, which is then transmitted directly to a panel or door controller for verification (with PIN validation occurring at the panel, not on the card). The pivCLASS RK40 is capable of reading any PIV-based card with a contactless interface that includes a Card Authentication Key (CAK) certificate. For comprehensive security, it pairs effectively with HID Global’s pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) or pivCLASS Embedded Authentication solutions.
