HID Global offers an extensive range of pivCLASS security readers, including contactless, dual interface, and biometric options. These advanced readers are engineered to integrate with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) to fulfill the assurance level standards outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-116 and the federal government’s FICAM E-PACS guidelines. These pivCLASS readers can be configured to operate in either Wiegand mode or PAM mode. The Wiegand mode is ideal for environments not yet using a PAM and supports staged deployment to facilitate the transition to FIPS 201 compliance. Upgrading from Wiegand mode to PAM mode can be achieved through field reconfiguration of the reader firmware.
