The pivCLASS® solutions portfolio offers a comprehensive range of contact, contactless, and biometric pivCLASS® Readers for agencies to comply with assurance level requirements and adhere to NIST SP 800-116 guidelines. These readers integrate seamlessly with the pivCLASS® Authentication Module (PAM) to support all levels of assurance. Additionally, pivCLASS readers ensure full backward compatibility with existing iCLASS® and HID Prox systems, facilitating a smooth transition from legacy cards to PKI-based credentials. Each PAM can connect with up to two pivCLASS readers via four-wire RS-485 connections, often allowing for the reuse of existing infrastructure wiring.

– A contactless reader solution that satisfies NIST’s “Controlled” security area assurance level with single-factor authentication: CHUID or CAK.
– A contact reader solution that fulfills NIST’s “Limited” security area assurance level with dual-factor authentication: PIV + PIN.
– A contact biometric (BIO) reader solution that meets NIST’s “Exclusion” assurance level with triple-factor authentication: PIV + PIN + BIO.
– FASC-N readings for non-SP800-116 “uncontrolled” areas, along with additional TWIC authentication modes, CHUID + BIO and CAK + BIO.
