The HID Global pivCLASS RKCL40 dual interface reader, featuring both contact and contactless capabilities, is designed for security environments that adhere to FIPS-201 standards for “Controlled” and “Limited” access. Integrated with HID Global’s pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) or any OSDP-compliant strong authentication controller, the pivCLASS RKCL40 ensures robust validation by confirming the authenticity of the presented card, verifying that the card’s data remains unaltered, and safeguarding against card duplication, loss, or theft. In Card Authentication Key (CAK) mode, it efficiently reads PIV-based cards with a contactless interface and a CAK certificate. Additionally, in PIV+PIN mode, the reader facilitates on-card PIN matching and validates the PIV Authentication Key certificate.
